A small light emitting window of my Led, only leads me to the forest floor. Relentless mosquitoes still hovering around me waiting for chance in any of my blood. At every turn, Bush hammers thick broken legs. Only twelve hours in Eco-Challenge North American Championship, and I'm questioning my sanity.
Hours earlier, me and my Helly Hansen / Water Tower Inn teammates have been joking that we enjoy the beautiful surroundings in the comfort of a CN Railway. Across the north, it was clear why the race director Steve Menzie and thick designer Rich Marshall had selected this exquisite space. The dense forests of this region are legendary and are open to fall into Lake Superior, known for its dangerous conditions, and its beauty. In the hope of the station and head eastward out of the starting line in the Agawa River was an alarm for the last 40 teams from across North America.
Soon all the teams were locked in his personal struggle against Mother Nature.

Traveling at night is something few humans. During an adventure race, are those moments that we cherish and curse. During the next three days, travel more 200 miles by bicycle, by canoe from Montreal and cow-Rivières and pushing the body to the limit. Our amount of sleep a total of more than 1 hour 24 hours of racing. In the checkpoints, the volunteers could not believe that our enthusiasm. They did not know that the enthusiasm, all that ran!
Since Friday morning approached, we were rewarded with some hosted on our mountain bikes down. The finish line is in progress. However, the need to get there was less urgent. The feeling of sadness that this epic adventure was about to stop is sometimes more difficult in an adventure race. I look around Bob, John and Trish there was one thing we all share. We were all smiles!
Team Helly Hansen / Water Tower Inn located hours, three seconds behind the Salomon team Canada and 20 hours in advance of eastern Canada as outdoors. These three teams were the only teams to officially cross the finish line.
